A single network unifies language understanding, image and video generation, and robotic actions through shared attention and state. Separate understanding and generation weight streams combine next-token prediction with flow matching. The October 5 release presents architecture and demonstrations as a research preview; it does not establish downloadable weights or a generally accessible API. Its inclusion follows the catalog’s precedent for substantive named published research models.

It combines a 657M ConvNeXt V2 visual encoder with a 6.4B language transformer trained from scratch. Compact visual tokens improve streaming efficiency. Hosted API and demo access complement downloadable weights. The release license permits commercial use below a revenue threshold and imposes additional conditions otherwise; it is not equivalent to an unrestricted Apache release. EdgeQ deployment is grouped as a quantized variant.

Reka Flash 3 is an open-weight 21B reasoning language model focused on text generation, coding, and mathematics. It uses a 32K context and can vary its reasoning budget to balance latency and performance. Unlike hosted multimodal Reka models, this released checkpoint is a text model and should not inherit unsupported visual capabilities. Apache-licensed weights allow local serving and customization. The model is optimized primarily for English, and reported task performance depends on reasoning settings and evaluation harnesses.
