Med-PaLM 2
Med-PaLM 2 is the second published medical-language research model, introduced at Google’s March 2023 health event and subsequently documented in a research paper. Built on PaLM 2 with medical-domain training, it improves exam question answering and physician-rated long-form responses. The model informed the later MedLM product family, whose deployment identities are separate. Public weights were not released, and research evaluation alone does not establish clinical readiness.
